BRECKNOCK  HALL

Brecknock Road, Greenport, NY 11944   ~   (631) 477-0698

Brecknock Hall in the Spring.  The Hall is one of the largest 19th century stone houses in Suffolk County.

Brecknock Hall is one of Long Island’s most superb examples of 19th century Italianate stone architecture.  It was constructed between 1851 and 1857 (exterior) and 1858 (interior) as the family residence for David Gelston Floyd. He named his new home Brecknock Hall in loving tribute to Brecknockshire, Wales, ancestral home county of the Floyds.

The Brecknock Hall Foundation began a complete restoration and renovation in 2004, then estimated to cost well over a million dollars. A remarkable crew of volunteers, organized by a member of the Foundation Board, has accrued an estimated 19,500 hours of restoration work. Local contractors and vendors have generously discounted their services and the cost of the renovation materials, allowing the Foundation to complete the project at a fraction of the original estimate.

We proudly announce that the Hall will open in the Spring 2009. The lawn is available for rental to host parties of up to 200 guests. On the first floor, we offer rental space  for up to 100 guests at community events, private parties, weddings, corporate meetings, any special celebration that deserves a unique location. The second floor has a  sunny 2 bedroom apartment and 5 beautiful offices for rent.
